A bumper edition

Our regular publication of 25 year old AOC Bulletins have proved popular with some 900 copies being downloaded last time. 1997 was the first year that Julian Collins was in the editorial seat and culminated in a national prize for the best Club magazine. If you enjoyed the last one, this one from July 1997 is one of the best with 91 pages of articles from all over the world including several worthy of mention for similar events planned this year.

The first Ride and Drive event at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, is featured and on Sunday August 14th the Annual Concours returns after an absence of three years. It is open to Alvis owners and if you would like the entry form and details please leave a reply.

The 12/60 GW 4133 featured in the centre spread photo is currently owned by Simon Spinks and shown here in the foyer of “The Motorist” which will be the venue for the AOC AGM on 2nd October.

The discovery of the grave of the racing driver Maurice Harvey is the subject of one article. We have previously covered the memorial events in Major Harvey Memorial Weekends. On October 12th he continues to be remembered in Cornwall some 25 years later – The Harvey Memorial Meeting on the Lizard Peninsula from 10.30 White Hart Inn, St Keverne for coffee; Harvey Memorial at 11.30 then lunch from 12 noon.
