An interesting 12/70 engine with experimental hot-spot inlet and exhaust manifolds with a Solex carburettor replacing the more usual SU item. Possibly 1940/41 and converted by the Works to run on low grade fuel. Clearly a very ‘used’ engine having has a scruffy repaint and corrosion around the water outlet pipe.
