One of the 300 photos in 1950s – Album 2 has stumped our historians – the only clue we have is the registration number which dates from early 1932 and falls in a sequence of known Speed 20 SAs sold by Follett. Yesterday, the WordPress statistics page showed that one million “views” were clocked up since the website went live in 2012, so thank you for being a visitor and viewing the material. Looking back over the years the highest number of views on a day was 4,951 after publishing the Albums kept by the Alvis Owner Club in the 1950s. Taking a photograph and seeing it developed then was far more involved and expensive than it is today.
We have made it a little easier to view the Albums on line and invite you to browse these historic photos again (or maybe for the first time) just click ALBUMS .

While many large events continue to be constrained by the dreaded virus, new smaller gatherings of friends on a less formal basis have returned to fill the social calendar. Our first Dining Club meeting got off to a perfect start making the most of our base at Bowcliffe Hall and its Drivers Club which has returned to normal with a full menu, excellent service and magnificent surroundings catering for the petrol head. For a report of the first meeting and dates of future meetings, click Dining Club.
